Harvest 247: A Church That Is More Than Sundays

The name Harvest 247 carries a mission. It points to a church that lives every day of the week, and to a verse that describes what God can do through ordinary people.

The meaning of 247

The number comes from Acts 2:47. After describing how the first believers gathered, shared meals, prayed, and cared for one another, Luke tells us the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved. Notice that it did not happen only when they met in a large gathering. It happened daily, in the rhythm of everyday life. The "24/7" in our name also reminds us that church is not an event we attend. It is a life we live.

More than Sundays

Sunday worship matters, and we gather gladly. But the early church did not wait for a weekly service to be the church. They met in homes, served neighbors, and spoke about Jesus in the normal places of life. We want to be a people who carry the mission with us on Monday through Saturday too.

A pathway church, not a program church

A program church asks, "How can we get people to attend what we offer?" A pathway church asks, "How can we help each person take the next step toward Jesus and toward maturity?" Programs can become the goal. A pathway has a destination: people who follow Christ, grow in Him, and go on to help others do the same.

At Harvest, every ministry, from our homes to our youth to our kids, is meant to be a step on that path rather than a stop in itself.
